How to Prepare for Your Wax
Short answer: let hair grow to about a grain of rice (5mm), exfoliate gently a day before, and arrive with clean, oil-free skin.
Hair length
Around 5mm is ideal — long enough for the wax to grip, short enough to stay comfortable. If it’s longer, we can trim.
Skin prep
Gently exfoliate the day before to reduce ingrown hairs, and skip creams, oils and perfume on the day so the wax adheres well.
Timing

Ready when you are — book mobile waxing to your hotel or home.
The full checklist (one page, tick as you go)
Use this the morning of your appointment.
- ☐ Hair length is 5mm or longer (count from the day you last shaved — most people need 10–14 days of growth for a first Brazilian).
- ☐ Exfoliated gently 24h ago (a washcloth in the shower is enough — don't scrub).
- ☐ No body lotion, oil, fake tan or SPF on the area being waxed.
- ☐ No perfume or deodorant on underarms if that's on the list.
- ☐ Clean cotton underwear or boxers — synthetics trap heat and friction.
- ☐ A glass of water in advance — hydration helps skin elasticity.
- ☐ A painkiller if you're worried (ibuprofen 30 minutes before, NOT aspirin — aspirin thins blood and can cause more redness).
What to skip on the day
- No hot yoga, sauna, gym or beach right before — warm, dilated skin reacts more.
- No caffeine right before if you're anxious — it amplifies pain perception.
- No retinols or exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) on the area for 48 hours before.
If your hair is the wrong length
Too short (under 4mm): the wax won't grip properly. Wait 2–3 more days. Don't shave in the meantime — it'll just push the appointment back further.
Too long (over 12mm): we can trim with clippers before the wax, but it's faster if you trim yourself first. Don't shave — that's a reset.
If you have sensitive skin
Skip actives (retinol, AHA, BHA, vitamin C serum) on the area for 5 days before and after. Tell us on WhatsApp — we'll bring Aloevera wax as the default and have a cooling gel ready post-wax.
